Nathan Browning was born in 1980 in London – where he still lives and works today. With a bakcground spanning both fine art and engineering, he views his role as blending the two - the engineering of the camera and the physical properties of light come together with the artist's eye. This enables him to capture a moment frozen in time which the viewer is able to visit again and again.?
Nathan has always been fascinated by people and emotions and most of his work focuses on this. In his recent work he has introduced a new style which he calls ‘Phainting’ or ‘Phinking’ which uses a combination of photography, painting and ink.
In this style, sometimes extracts of his poetry are hidden within the image. This way of working has enabled him to add colour and emotion and allow the artist and viewer to have a more intimate relationship and understanding of the subject.
In recent years Nathan has undertaken various private commissions. He has worked primarily in film, theatre, music and fashion.
His collectors and clients include Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones),?Jeff Beck (Jeff Beck Group),?Guy Portelli (artist/sculptor),?Cherie Lunghi (actress),?The Faces (band)?Munro Sounds (Rolling Stones Office),?Ambassador Theatre,?Rambert Dance?Company, Jesse Wood (musician)?Richard Reed (founder of Innocent Smoothies).
