David Kim Whittaker is a unique talent. While his work has echoes of both Constable and Bacon, it is nonetheless original and utterly beguiling.
Informed in part by David's own identity - he was diagnosed with Gender Disphoria in 2009 - the paintings do however have a life of their own. Very like the artist the work is a fusion between a romanticism of beautiful landscapes and the harsher realities of the world. Glimpse is a comprehensive solo exhibition featuring large triptychs, expansive canvasses as well as delicate works on paper.
