Biography

My process for creating work is an intuitive one and I like to absorb and immerse myself in the emotions of my subject before creating. I bought the book “Picasso’s Women” by Brian McAvera and read the monologues of Marie Therese Walter, Fernande Olivier and Olga Khokhlova. I read over them multiple times to inhabit the emotions of these wonderfully complex women before beginning to create the works with my body with no planning. Somehow, through my body memory of the emotions conveyed in the text, I hoped to capture the essence of the personalities of the women.
