LOUISE GIBLIN
Louise Giblin is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors in London. She studied BA Fine Art Sculpture at Brighton, where Sir Antony Gormley was her tutor, and completed her MA at Chelsea, University of the Arts London.
Predominantly recognised as a body cast sculptor, she employs plaster to cover the torsos and body parts of live models as the starting point for exploring human experience and personal narratives. In addition, she creates sensuous, smaller torso-based pieces and larger scale exterior works.
In 2017, Louise Giblin was selected as the artist to represent the UK in the G7 of Art in Italy and was awarded the Gold for Sculpture at the Florence Biennale. In 2018, she received the International Master of Art Award at the Museum of Art and Design in New York. Her work is held in private collections across Europe, America, and Asia.
