Originally from Sussex, Mike has lived in Sunderland with his family for many years. His paintings tell stories which relate specifically to the north east, but the humanity which is revealed in them, both humour and darker themes, resonates with the viewer. Each image is packed with detail and character, and each detailed element is important to the story, even if not central to the image itself. Mike is also a sculptor and has undertaken many private and public commissions.
