STEPHEN PAGE
Utilising minimal detail, Stephen Page's sculptures aim to express and embody the very essence of animals, conveying their intrinsic nature. While they possess a sense of stillness, they are also imbued with power, grace, and movement through an interplay of lines, planes, and curves. Much of the work is influenced by historical artworks and artifacts, exploring mankind's evolving relationship with the animal world throughout human history. This endeavor seeks to cultivate a newfound reverence for these magnificent creatures.
The artworks seamlessly blend ancient and contemporary influences, with each piece encapsulating a distinct spirit. Crafted in bronze using the lost wax process, they are produced in small editions and meticulously hand-finished. Their smooth and tactile surfaces are then patinated in a range of traditional and contemporary tones, hues, and marble effects, lending each piece a unique individuality.
Having completed a degree in Fine Art Sculpture at Southampton, Stephen now operates from his studio in the Tanat Valley in Mid Wales. He showcases his work both nationally and internationally, with his pieces being featured in collections across the UK and around the world.
