Art Celebrates World Book Day

"Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble."

Yehuda Berg

As World Book Day on 3rd March focuses on the importance of the book, throughout March we look at the increasing and influential use of text in art.

Laura Beaumont's collaboration with vintage books and Stuart Cain's book page canvases, the mixed media text works using original vinyl records and children's building bricks of Keith Haynes and Matt Lambert and the linear musings of artistic duo Dangerous Minds - all celebrate the power of the written word and its crossover into visual arts.
