A celebration of Valentine’s Day and an opportunity to bring together a wide range of artists, this year’s annual 'The Kiss' exhibition will be an online exclusive show, enabling 27 artists, from painters to sculptors, to participate. All works can be purchased online and viewed by appointment. With prices starting from £120 up to £10,000, there are options for all budgets.

We have had many themes for our ‘The Kiss’ exhibition, now in its thirteenth year. This year, we have chosen a theme that reflects the many struggles being faced by people globally. We have become accustomed to the doom and gloom of media reports – undoubtedly justified by world events – but somehow lacking in optimism and positivity. We hope that our theme this year will embody the challenging times in which we live but with a change of tone.

The Kiss: Hope, Resilience, and Compassion

Hope is a truly powerful word that changes people's lives. Defined as a fervent desire with the expectation of fulfilment, it is inspirational, motivating, and sometimes life-saving. Resilience speaks to success in adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences, something we have all experienced in one way or another over the past few years, and compassion literally means "to suffer together." To have compassion does not just mean to empathise with another but to be moved to reach out and relieve that suffering.

Together, these three words speak to our humanity.

We hope that the collection of artworks on offer in the show bring you some positivity and serve as a reminder of the importance of hope, resilience, and compassion in our current time.

A more in-depth look at the individual artworks is available in our Viewing Rooms running throughout February.
