The third in our summer series of group shows celebrates COLOUR.
In art history, colour, though often used to stunning effect, was confined by and subordinate to the subject matter. Impressionism changed that. The subject matter moved from religous, historical and mythological themes, to the ordinary and every day - and within that colour became a tool.
This exhibition presents artists who use colour within their work in a definitive way. The artworks span figurative and abstract works across a range of media - sculpture, painting and mixed media.
